| Chapter 77 | The Unleashed | |
| 50 Verses | al-Mursalat | الـمرسلات |
| 1 | In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. By those [winds] sent forth in gusts | بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ عُرْفًا |
| 2 | And the winds that blow violently | فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًا |
| 3 | And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] | وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا |
| 4 | And those [angels] who bring criterion | فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا |
| 5 | And those [angels] who deliver a message | فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا |
| 6 | As justification or warning, | عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا |
| 7 | Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. | إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ |
| 8 | So when the stars are obliterated | فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ |
| 9 | And when the heaven is opened | وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ |
| 10 | And when the mountains are blown away | وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ |
| 11 | And when the messengers’ time has come… | وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ |
| 12 | For what Day was it postponed? | لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ |
| 13 | For the Day of Judgement. | لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ |
| 14 | And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? | وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ |
| 15 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 16 | Did We not destroy the former peoples? | أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ |
| 17 | Then We will follow them with the later ones. | ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ |
| 18 | Thus do We deal with the criminals. | كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ |
| 19 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 20 | Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? | أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ |
| 21 | And We placed it in a firm lodging | فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ |
| 22 | For a known extent. | إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ |
| 23 | And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. | فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَ |
| 24 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 25 | Have We not made the earth a container | أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا |
| 26 | Of the living and the dead? | أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا |
| 27 | And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. | وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا |
| 28 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 29 | [They will be told], “Proceed to that which you used to deny. | ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ |
| 30 | Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns | ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ |
| 31 | [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame.” | لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ |
| 32 | Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, | إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ |
| 33 | As if they were yellowish [black] camels. | كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ |
| 34 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 35 | This is a Day they will not speak, | هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ |
| 36 | Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. | وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ |
| 37 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 38 | This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. | هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَـٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ |
| 39 | So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. | فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ |
| 40 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 41 | Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs | إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ |
| 42 | And fruits from whatever they desire, | وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ |
| 43 | [Being told], “Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.” | كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ |
| 44 | Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. | إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ |
| 45 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 46 | [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals. | كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ |
| 47 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 48 | And when it is said to them, “Bow [in prayer],” they do not bow. | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ |
| 49 | Woe, that Day, to the deniers. | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ |
| 50 | Then in what statement after the Qur’an will they believe? | فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ |
