| Chapter 104 | The Backbiter | |
| 9 Verses | al-Humazah | الـهمزة |
| 1 | In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. Woe to every scorner and mocker | بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ |
| 2 | Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. | ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ |
| 3 | He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. | يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ |
| 4 | No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. | كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ |
| 5 | And what can make you know what is the Crusher? | وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ |
| 6 | It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, | نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ |
| 7 | Which mounts directed at the hearts. | ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ |
| 8 | Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them | إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ |
| 9 | In extended columns. | فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ |
