| Chapter 92 | The Night | |
| 21 Verses | al-Layl | اللـيـل |
| 1 | In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. By the night when it covers | بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ |
| 2 | And [by] the day when it appears | وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ |
| 3 | And [by] He who created the male and female, | وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ |
| 4 | Indeed, your efforts are diverse. | إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ |
| 5 | As for he who gives and fears Allah | فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ |
| 6 | And believes in the best [reward], | وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ |
| 7 | We will ease him toward ease. | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ |
| 8 | But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need | وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ |
| 9 | And denies the best [reward], | وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ |
| 10 | We will ease him toward difficulty. | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ |
| 11 | And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? | وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ |
| 12 | Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. | إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ |
| 13 | And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. | وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ |
| 14 | So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. | فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ |
| 15 | None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. | لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى |
| 16 | Who had denied and turned away. | ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ |
| 17 | But the righteous one will avoid it – | وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى |
| 18 | [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself | ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ |
| 19 | And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded | وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ |
| 20 | But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. | إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ |
| 21 | And he is going to be satisfied. | وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ |
